Quick Girls Trip
I live for my getaways with my girls. No matter the length, our times together never disappoint.
This visit was a quick one to Shawna’s house to see her 15-month-old twin boys. I’m tired just thinking about her schedule now. But Shawna is really happy, and it was a beautiful thing to see her as a mom. She’s incredible, managing her crazy home life and her busy career. We got some time in with her boys for sure, and we were lucky to have lots of adult time, too! The laughs never ended. One of the funniest things on this trip was that Shawna and Scott’s dog was obsessed with me. As a matter of fact, I was standing unexpectedly at the kitchen counter when he decided to mount me from behind. I’m pretty sure Kelley peed herself from laughing so hard at the ridiculous scene.
After a little sunbathing and day drinking, we made our way to one of the many restaurants under Shawna’s husband, Scott’s, control. We were lucky enough to have Scott and one of his best friends join us. We even got to meet up after dinner with another friend from high school and her husband. The evening was filled with delicious food, copious amounts of alcohol, and endless laughter.
Things were a little slow-going Sunday morning, but we rallied as we always do. It isn’t unusual to be the recipients of dirty looks at brunch and to be told to “use your inside voices,” is it?
It was only a quick Friday night-Sunday night trip. But it was well worth it. I can’t wait to do it again!
